M Performance Automobiles line up at the start with the M Sport package as a standard feature. In addition to the M Sport suspension, it also contains the M aerodynamics package. Also included in the package are enlarged air inlets in the front apron in order to cool the engines and a colour-contrasting rear diffusor insert. The M Performance Automobiles are equipped with powerful engines, which are among the most efficient in every model series. Each one underlines the unique selling point of the respective model. The sole inline six-cylinder is employed in the BMW 1 Series and 2 Series. Eight cylinders and an impressive acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.0 seconds make the BMW M550i xDrive a truly exceptional athlete. As if that were not enough: with 4 turbochargers for the first time ever, the BMW M550d xDrive featuring the M Performance TwinPower Turbo inline 6-cylinder diesel engine offers extremely sporty acceleration figures. Also guaranteeing boundless driving dynamics is the BMW X3 M40i, with its M Performance TwinPower Turbo inline 6-cylinder petrol engine of the latest generation delivering 265 kW (360 hp) at a maximum torque of 500 Nm. The aluminium engine in the BMW X4 M40i lines up at the start with a forged steel crankshaft and components from the high-performance engine of the current BMW M3 and M4 models. The only V12 petrol engine with 610 hp is reserved – for the BMW M760Li xDrive. Impressive power units with driving characteristics further intensified by their spine-tingling, emotive sound.

Fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.

  • The values of fuel consumptions, CO2 emissions and energy consumptions shown were determined according to the European Regulation (EC) 715/2007 in the version applicable at the time of type approval. The figures refer to a vehicle with basic configuration in Germany and the range shown considers optional equipment and the different size of wheels and tires available on the selected model.

    The values of the vehicles labeled with (3), are already based on the new WLTP regulation and are translated back into NEDC-equivalent values in order to ensure the comparison between the vehicles.
